Back in 1997 I was 20 years old and just opening my fly shop. I new about Scientific Anglers and Rio and all the other fly line companies out there... But I am a local kid, a local guy... I like supporting the little guy.
Turns out Royal Wullf was right down the street in the catskills... But how can you say Lee Wulff is a little guy. He is the innovator of fly fishing. He invented the Royal Wulff Fly. He was the ultimate bush pilot angler. I new that there was a fit with Wulff Lines.
Of the many innovations that Lee Wulff has contributed to fly fishing, the Triangle Taper fly line is perhaps the most popular. Winner of the coveted Kudo award, the Triangle Taper offers the greatest delicacy of any fly line. The Triangle Taper is a continuous forward taper in the head of the line, the first 27 to 40 feet, depending on the application. This provides the most efficient transfer of casting energy as it unrolls because the heavier line is constantly turning over lighter line. This design also gives you a more delicate presentation because the weight is away from the fly. It is also the finest roll casting line for up to 60' casts. The combination of a long weighted section and a light running line make the Triangle Taper cast like a shooting head for distance.

Designed to load quickly and punch out big, wind-resistant flies and poppers, these Triangle Tapers are built for high-speed deliveries to lily pads or old stumps, wherever big bass are found. And they can be fished right back to the boat, then redelivered with a minimum of false casts. 90' long, with a short 27' front taper and a 63' running line.

Finally, an easy-casting sink-tip fly line. Here's why: We utilize our continuous Triangle Taper in the forward part of the line. Casting energy rolls throughout the loop, and doesn't "hinge" as with other sink tips. Belly is ivory color for high visibility, while head is neutral grey. 90' length, 3.25-5 IPS sink rate, with a 36'-40' taper, and a 50'-54' running line.
