Function: The Beaver Meadow fly rod was created to be a supplement to the avid fly fishers line of fly rods. The concept of this rod was quite simple. Many anglers venture out into the wilderness with intentions to escape the crowds and fish for native fish. Nearly every angler has a haunt they love to prowl into. Many times we even get a little nervous parking the car too close to that beloved stream holding native populations of fish. The task at hand is to go fishing, and it sometimes is cumbersome with a long fly rod. So we decided to develop a small one that would easily roll cast in small streams but could lay out a bit more line when you finally arrived at that hidden plunge pool. The fly rods start at 5 feet long as are 2 pieces. They have a small 6 inch cigar grip, and a multitude of options for reel seats. Reel seats are slide band down lock anodized aluminum hardware. We only build these rods in short runs, so see your dealer if you would like to order one or see what different models they have in stock.

Due to increased demand this Spring Season, JP Ross Fly Rods has decided to expand on the Beaver Meadow series. We recently have received some additional exposure from a write up and comparison in Fly Fish America. In this magazine we were listed as the only company building a series of 5 foot rods. As you may already know, we are also the only company who currently builds a 5 piece 2 weight. To continue with this premise of being a company who stands away from the crowd, we also have introduced a number of rods in this series which no other company builds. These rods will come with a green powder coated case with gold cap and collar, small 6 inch grip, and a cocobolo down slide band reel seat.  Cross is etched in wood seat and on butt cap.

All rods will be trimmed with green wraps and bright grass green accents, and also will receive our trademark feather inlay and personal inscription.
